Europeans and Canadians have used electric teakettles for decades to "hot up" water for tea. Ours has a 1200-watt chrome-plated element inside that does the work faster and more efficiently than a pot on the stove. With the lid in place, it shuts off automatically when the water is ready. Filling is easy, either through the spout or the top. Just be sure to keep the water level between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks. Has a quick reset to restart boiling and make another pot. Makes up to 8 cups. UL listed.
